A proper wok
It is perfect for stir fries. Once seasoned it is a joy to use and the instructions for seasoning are on the packaging and are easy to follow. The only downside is the weight but the handles make it easy to deal with when cooking, it is a proper wok that will last for years. Highly recommended

Buckles when heated
Used the wok 4 times successfully and thought that it would be perfect.... then the 5th time i noticed it was wobbling on the hob because the bottom had warped. at the centre of the flat bottom portion it had warped so there was a raised 2mm bulge (see photo). So in the centre of my flat section is a mound that means I now only have a 3cm square section in contact with the hob which means the hob and does not heat up properly.Less of an issue but also poor quality is that the support handle after the first use is not holding tight as the rivets are loose...Pretty poor quality if you can not heat the wok to high temperature, after all a wok is supposed to be high temp cooking on a smoking wok pan!! not possible with this product. No option to return the pan either or complain or contact the supplier so might try to hammer this flat again- not exactly what you expect to do with your new pan!!! What can I say, very very dissapointed!

Wok looks nice - Handles a little loose - (Updated Review)
I'm breaking this review down a bit for ease...# Rating1. I knocked off a star because of the issue with the handles on these woks. Poor design? Low quality? Who knows...2. I also knocked off a star because I emailed them 3 days ago (at the time of the updated review) through the School of Wok website about the issue, but they're yet to respond.# The packaging (original wok compared to replacement wok)So, I originally ordered the wok and when I got it the box packaging was as basic as you can get. A box cut down to size with the flaps folded in. Two holes where the handles had managed to move in the box and break free. The wok had nothing in with it to stop it moving around or to protect it.This time the box appeared to be the correct size for the wok, a few centimetres higher than the wok, rather than inches (and cut down). There was brown paper in with the wok and most strangely of all, the wok came sealed in a grey bag. My original wok didn't come like this within a bag, so I'm curious as to know if and why the original wok was removed from this grey bag? Your guess is as good as mine.# Two woks, two loose handles (maybe I was just unlucky?)On to the wok, the handle is again a little loose. I can't remember if it was like this before I began to season it last time and just got looser with time spent cleaning and heating/seasoning the original wok or not. I hope not!# Is it just me or is it annoying when people go to the effort of leaving ratings but don't leave a comment/review?I notice since I posted my review, that somebody else left a 5 star rating with no review. Not entirely helpful, especially if they read my original review. They could have wrote about their experience. i.e. was it packaged better? Was the handle loose or tight fitting?# Am I going to keep it or return it?What else can I say... I've not yet seasoned and used the new wok yet as I wasn't sure if I was going to return it or just accept this is how they come. To be honest, I'm probably just going to keep it because I cannot be bothered sending it back and ordering another knowing it might be the same again. Since nobody else has reviewed this yet, it's difficult to know if this is 'just how they come' or I'm getting the ones damaged in transit.I'd like to say it's well made, but then I'm resigned to the fact that I'm going to have to have to try and fix the loose handle myself in a few weeks/months if it gets looser/begins to annoy me.# Overall quality of the wokI assume with my past experience of woks being the non-stick versions from larger manufacturers such as Tefal, I'm used to their quality control being far higher, so you're just far less likely to have these sorts of problems.I've updated my review from 2 Stars because of the loose handle as much as the poor state of the packaging first time around up to 4 stars simply because the handle is still loose. Yes £30 isn't an excessive amount compared to others available both on Amazon and elsewhere. But I've watched the School of Wok videos where Jeremy Pang is using (I assume) his own woks and I'm not seeing the woks clunking around like both of mine have.Maybe they "fix" them or maybe I just got unlucky twice since very few people have complained about the issue on the other versions of these School of Wok, woks which is a little frustrating if that's the case.# Would I still recommend the wok?Yes I would, the wok is nice and big, just make sure you have the room on your stove. The handles look well made, just the rivets on both of my woks didn't seem up to the job of securing the handle tightly enough.I haven't actually got as far as using the wok for cooking, but I'm sure if you follow the steps required to season the wok and prepare it for use. It should be fine and just like any other carbon steel wok.=== Original 2 Star Review ===[Edit: I've snipped a bit of the original review to make the overall review shorter]When I received the wok, the delivery driver waited to explain that the box was a bit damaged but the wok was "fine".That surprised me initially, because I thought "how does he know it's a wok? It doesn't tell you what's in the Amazon boxes!" I got my answer when I went to pick up the box off the floor, the wok handle came flying out the hole at me and the wok began to slide around freely in the box!It used to be that Amazon would use far too much packing material in the boxes, but in this instance, they've done the opposite and used none at all!I initially noticed some minor cosmetic marks on the handle and that the handle seemed a little loose [edit: a lot looser than the new wok.]I read other reviews on the older versions of this same wok, (pink packaging rather than orange) and they also had the same problem with loose handles.A couple of people had attempted to fix the issue by hammering their woks handle rivets after they had become use after using it for some time I assume.Another facing the same problem after delivery said that Amazon replaced it. So being a brand new wok, I figured I shouldn't have to try and fix it myself and risk damaging the wok further, so its been returned for a refund. The 2 stars is based on the quality of the wok I received and the terrible condition of the packaging which may or may not have resulted in the handle becoming loose. However, because I'm hopeful that this problem was caused by the poor packaging and not poor manufacturing processes. [edit: maybe I just got really really unlucky first time and again now to some extent again]

Bad quality
Had this wok for over a year. Finally, the handle came off as the rivets are very poor quality. This is a dangerous product and surprised they still sell it!! Very disappointing product due to bad quality and do absolutely NOT recommend.

Follow the instructions & all will be well
I was careful to follow the instructions for initial cleaning & seasoning and, after a couple of months use, I can say I'm very happy with it. I think some people expect instant, and perfect, non-stick & thats not going to happen. Carbon steel, like cast iron, takes a little getting used to but if you treat it properly you will not regret it.

Great wok at decent price
Sturdy wok with two handy handles. Once seasoned properly, it’s easy to clean. A bit too heavy for me to toss food with one hand!

Fantastic product, with easy instructions to get you started
I’m very impressed by my new wok, easy to clean and built with sturdiness in mind. Will definitely buy more products from School of Wok

Poor construction
At the end of the day it’s a wok and I don’t expect much other than it to be made well. Unfortunately I cannot say this as the handle is very loose and wobbly.
