Seems good value, at the right price
The media could not be loaded. I'll start by saying that my partner has an expensive Fitbit Versa 4 so i will be comparing against that a lot.I've never felt the urge to spend £150 on a fitness tracker, but liked the idea of connectivity to various phone apps. With an RRP of £99 for this T70, this seems like a big investment, with Fitbits currently available for not much more. Turns out the T70 was on offer for £50, which made it slightly better. Fitbit may be a more well-known name, but given that Fitbits don't last forever (barely 2 years, in this house) and once they start failing they end up getting binned, it was worth checking this one out.I've had this for 3 days now, so here are my initial findings. It arrived almost fully charged, but I plugged in the magnetic charging cable and let it get to 100%. After 3 days and a lot of playing with settings it is still on 64%, which seems pretty good.Setting up the Gloryfit app is a bit tricky. You need to set permissions. Some of the instructions on how to do this made no sense (even though said it was for Samsung. Maybe an Android update moved things around, but I certainly couldn't find some of the settings that it mentioned, but seems to be working okay so far.You can add notifications (confusingly they call them App Reminders in the app, and Messages on the watch) for some "standard' apps like WhatsApp, and can add some of your other non-standard apps, like Calengoo. There are lots of watch faces to choose from in the app. Dozens of them, all fairly ugly, gaudy-coloured, busy with too much information all on one screen, and generally unusable. Not one single, simple plain digital watch with time and date. There is an option to customise one, but that has the time laid out in a weird way, in a quarter of the screen.I'm still getting used to the bulky size. It's another thing that put me off getting a smartwatch because I have small wrists, and this looks BIG on me. Fitbit Versa is smaller, about the same width but not as tall (it is square rather than rectangular like this). Amazingly, the strap has enough notches to make it an inch smaller! For bigger wrists, it goes 2 inches larger than mine, so should fit MOST people, and it is very comfortable to wear, even sleeping. One thing where it does beat Fitbit is that it has a standard 22mm watch strap, rather than a special fitting that only Fitbit uses, so you can easily buy a replacement or change the colour if you wanted to swap looks. It comes with some built-in features that are completely independent of your phone (calculator, stopwatch, and flashlight) and includes an alarm feature, with 1-off alarms, repeating for certain days etc. However, it has a fixed tune and vibrate, with no choice of volume, and plays just once for a few seconds. If your arm was under the pillow you wouldn't hear it. If it was next to your ear you'd have a heart attack. Fitbits have a variable vibration only setting, which for me is more preferable to a tuneThe screen is off, to save battery, but takes a few seconds to wake up when you raise your wrist to check the time, and sometimes doesn't stay on long enough to look at it, but can be changed in the settings. I found it somewhere in the watch settings. It synced with my music app (You Music) without me even noticing I'd done it, so I guess it looks for whatever you are currently using on your phone, and it shows up on the watch screen, with the start/stop/back/forward controls. Wonderful. There are also screens for weather, heart rate, sleep, and blood oxygen (no idea why I would need that).Sleep monitoring initially appears great, showing lots of facts and figures, but I'm not sure how accurate or where the reference data comes from, as it says I'm getting about 5 hours of 'deep' sleep, and thinks that's normal. A quick Google says we should have about 1-2 hours! In summary, if you shop around and get it for a good price, and you are happy with the big size, this is definitely worth a try, and for a lot less than a Fitbit.
