Nicely surprised. I can't see any difference in performance (using for several months now). A real bargain compaired to an 'original' replacement bulb. Recommended.

Does NOT fit into the housing in my Optoma HD151X as the ceramic portion leaves it proud of the recess in the housing. Return sorted out over the phone with Amazon so great service there. The product looks ok other than that.

It's not an *exact* replacement for the original lamp in the Optoma HD151X as advertised, it’s a millimetre or two longer, so you need to flex the thin metal housing a little to fit, but it seems to work well. Brought my projector back to life for less than half the price of replacing the entire lamp unit. Very simple to disassemble the housing (8 screws in total), so something you could easily do to get your projector back up and running quickly without resorting to an expensive service centre.Followup - I was quoted £55 assessment + £12.50 pickup + £25 labour + £12.50 return freight + parts cost .. all +VAT for an out of warranty repair from Optoma (had the projector 14 months). A replacement lamp unit from the Optoma shop is £340 - being charitable and assuming they're replace just the lamp and not the full housing I'd guess the part cost would be around £180. So had I taken them up on their offer, I guess the full repair wouldn't have left me much change out of £300, and possibly more. So this lamp was a bargain at £57 - might buy another just to keep as a handy spare.

I read some reviews about it not fitting the Optoma HD151X properly... but gave it a try anyway, as its the only lamp on here with good reviews and im not sure why it didn't fit other people, but it fit my Optoma HD151X perfectly. Picture seems as bright as the original bulb. I cant comment on life span yet but initially 5 stars for excellent price and fit.
