Come for the ice retention, stay for the built in light
Wow! To say I'm impressed by this little cooler would be a gross understatement. I have to tell you, in recent months, I have watched an abnormal amount of videos about coolers and their ice retention, as well as looked at who knows how many different reviews about coolers, their features, and respective ice retention.I have a little bit of a hot take that may make me unpopular, but I will say to the vast majority of people (yours truly included) don't NEED a cooler that can hold ice for X amount of days because what we're doing is using it for a quick beach trip, BBQ, or maybe an overnight camping trip. Most of us aren't trekking into the wilderness for 2 weeks at a time and need ice to stay whole in order for us to survive, but rather, we just want our drinks to be cold while I grill a burger. That is to say, the differences between the vast majority of rotomolded coolers is negligible. I know, I know, I too want my soda to be 35.7 F degrees for an insane amount of time just so I can say my cooler can do it, but I don't want to spend more than the down payment of my car to do that. That's where this Titan Pro cooler comes in...I have had a few different products from Titan before, but the "Pro" badge on this cooler is serious. This cooler isn't like the other bags or lunch bags that you have gotten from this company before. It's going toe-to-toe with the big names in coolers, and I can tell you first hand, it more than holds its own. The quality is rugged and this cooler is meant to last the test of time. And that's coming from a fan of that Big Y outdoor company. What sets this cooler apart is two things: 1. Price 2. Features.1. Look, it isn't cheap, but you get what you pay for. For this quality, it is very much in the same price point as other coolers out there. That's not to say that you're not going to hesitate for a quick second and say, "Oooooooh, do I really wanna spend that much on a cooler," but if you do it, you're going to be happy. Penny for penny, the performance of this cooler beats other coolers of the same caliber, but cost two to three times less than other big names.2. Features. WOW! This is really where this cooler just sets itself apart from other coolers at any price point. The real seller and sort of ridiculous (in a good way) feature is the light that acts as a fridge light when you open the lid of the cooler! If that wasn't enough, it acts as a flashlight or a mini lantern. Come on with the come on! And if you don't want to use that feature, just flip the light and it'll turn it off. Genius. Also, there are bungee cords built into the top of the cooler so you can hold towels, plates, anything you'd like, and not accidentally have anything slide off the top. The bungees are removable, but I don't know if they have proprietary hooks that if something happens to them, you need to buy specific Titan brand cords. The lid locks are strong. They snap into place, maybe even a little aggressively to the point where you're not going to be able to sneak anything out of there and close the lid again. The little drain plug is easy to grab and turn, which isn't always the case on other coolers. The slot for the bottle opener is a nice little addition. The only feature that I'm not entirely sold on yet is the little blue "ice saver" lid inside of the lid. The idea is that circulating air is what causes ice to melt and temperature to rise, so this little blue foam lid sits flush to the drinks/ice and will keep the ice frozen longer because it keeps the air out. The issue is the lid itself. It's made out of a thin foam that is meant to be swung open, but because there is no weight to it, most of the time you end up pulling the whole thing out and because it's being held in place with friction, so it's hard to get it in at an angle that is actually useful. Most of the time I get frustrated with trying to get it just right that I don't even use it. I like the idea, but the execution is missing the mark, I feel. If the foam was a little thicker, if it fit either more snugly or less snugly, had more weight or something to hold in place, then it would be a winner. As it stands, it's fine. The shoulder strap is a tank. It's adjustable and is thick.I have to say, I love this little cooler and I am looking for excuses to take it with me everywhere I go. The other issue which is not exclusive to this cooler is that for as big as it is, it doesn't hold as much as I'd like because the foam walls are so thick. With the thick walls also comes weight. It's heavy. There's no two ways about it. Until the majority of companies start releasing a double-walled vacuum sealed aluminum cooler, if you want good thermal performance, then rotomolded and foam is going to be the answer. I had this thing in a hot garage for hours with two ice packs, then in my hot car in SoCal with the same ice packs, went to the store, got frozen shrimp and salmon, took an hour detour, got home and the contents were still frozen rock solid. Performance is second to none, and if you are looking for a small-ish cooler with bells and whistles, this is it. When you over-engineer a cooler, you're going to knock it out of the park. Great job, Titan!

Outdoors Must Have
This thing is super awesome and jam packed full of features I never knew I wanted. It can keep ice for what seems like an eternity during a beach day. The built in light is a really cool feature that always impresses others, but it can also really come in hand sometimes when you just need a flashlight and you don't know where the nearest one is.It is pretty lightweight when empty which is a plus, but doesn't compromise on the insulation. The bottle opener seems like I would lose it easily so I put a tether on it so I will never lose it. This thing is awesome.

Ridiculous ice chest
We have a few ice chests but this one takes the cake when it comes to performance and just plain toughness. The thickness of the walls of this ice chest are comparable, if not maybe thicker than their target competition (high-end coolers). We've use the ice retention lid and honestly didn't notice a significant difference but it's nice to have the option. Both with and without the retention lid the cooler can keep ice for over 3 days (in the garage in south Texas). The overall construction is just fantastic, the latches are the best I've seen on an ice chest. They function easily and secure the lid very snug. The drain plug works fantastic and you're able to flush out every drop without any lips on the inside that might retain any liquid. Also the light, who would've thought to throw a light in there...which works really well, not to mention you can easily remove it and use it as a standard flashlight. The bungie straps on tops work great to hold other items and the strap serves both as a shoulder strap and handles. Lastly, there's even a bottle holder that hangs out on the lip of the cooler and is secure whenever the lid is closed. We can't say enough good things about this cooler!

Good insulation, delivers on its promises
We have medium size and large size hard shell coolers. The traditional ones which work for almost a day, or a bit more if you pack them with ice. We use reusable ice packs.During our camping trips, our friends brought two different coolers. One with soft walls, which couldn’t be left overnight given the racoons, squirrels.. the other one with hard shell, which held cold for almost three days. This ice chest had an almost identical build, and had some nice features depicted on the product page. Indeed, the ice chest is not too heavy. To be expected since it was the smallest of all. We intend to use it for temperature sensitive meat. The unit is extremely sturdy, we can leave it outdoors at night and not worry that an animal will get in. It has a carrying band which is easy to attach, but truthfully, I don’t see us carrying it on the shoulder. The bottle opener is cute and fits in either left or right side. The lights are a big step up. It's a pleasure to open the ice chest and have it lit up. Very strong light, no more fumbling around in a drack or using the phone in one hand to illuminate while digging with the other hand. Amazing how useful this small improvement is. It allows manual control, and even removing it and using it as a flashlight. Not that we’ll ever use it as a flashlight. We need a well-lit cooler, and we got it.My test shows a drop (increase) of 10 deg over 24 hours in a very hot car outdoors with a heat wave around – and only two icepacks. Not bad!
