Functions well and easy to read. Good value for personal use Battery wore out relatively quick, but it was put through rigorous testing of various homes. Like the 3 color, bright display. We used on all the appliances and electronics to determine dangerous frequencies and the range to which they extend.

This worked great to find the "hot spots" around the house. It even detected a hot spot around electric meter. I will buy a second unit to share with family.

Versatile detector and seemed to be very sensitive to RF emissions

This product is great – the best feature is that you can disable the piezoelectric speaker (annoying beeping) by holding the power/mute button for 1-2 seconds. Holding it again actually turns the backlit screen off, and then doing it a 3rd and 4th time will restore the sound and power respectively. This persists even after turning the device off, so you can have a quiet device without excessive beeps if you so desire.What I received was the RD630C (presumably C=Color) rather than the RD630 as the Amazon-listed model refers to, though the current pictures do accurately show the model number of the product that you get. This model uses a 9V battery similar to the RD630W, not the USB-C (?) rechargable feature you appear to get with the RD637. This isn't mentioned explicitly in the description of the models, which currently only says "1 Lithium Polymer batteries required. (included)". The RD630W description does mention in its description that you get a 9V battery with it... you also get one inside the box with the RD630C in case there was any confusion.Overall, the backlit color changing is neat and makes this intuitive to use. It's excellent that you can disable the speaker and that it saves that setting after you turn off the device ... just make sure you press it instead of holding it when you turn it off, or it will just be disabling the backlight by changing modes and still be On and you may not realize it in low-light conditions.

A concerning, but widely unknown fact is how strong cell phone signals, Wi-fi, and electromagnetic fields have become over the last three decades. The strength of these fields decreases rapidly over distance, so the closer to the source, the stronger the magnetic energy.Cell phones contain very powerful, miniaturized computers! They therefore create powerful electromagnetic fields.This device/tool can measure the strength of all these wave signals.Now, the eye-opening part. Turn the device on while standing away from your cell phone, W-fi router, laptop, or Apple computer. You will notice that the various type of signal strengths displayed on the meter either reads zero, or very, very low from background sources.Then move the device closer and closer to the cell phone, computer, router etc., and watch the numbers (signal strength energy) skyrocket. As those numbers increase a series of lights change from green to yellow, and the red light meaning extremely powerful.I have measured my iPhone 15 Pro, our whole house Netgear router, and pc.For all of them the signal strength goes 'off the charts' as you get close. Within two to six inches of the cell phone the cell signal, microwave band, and electromagnetic readings are alarming! The other devices are the same - alarming.Imagine the potential harm these can do to at the cellular level in your body (such as your brain), if held close for extended periods of time, or continual exposure such as having your phone on your hip all day, or in your pant pockets, close to reproductive organs. Think microwave cooking type damage.The GOOD news, this meter can detect the distances at which the signals can be dangerous, AND Faraday cloth, or blankets can totally block all these signals. Do some research and get some of these Faraday shield materials to protect yourself, and your children.There are many types of Faraday shielding materials such as very light cloth, and blankets sold on Amazon. A word to the wise . . .

Hubby wanted to see how much radiation our devices project. My wireless hubs do actually admit quite a bit, went all the way to red. It's nice to know how far is it admitting it and to know as long as you're that far away from the object you won't be contaminated. I'm actually shocked that they allow this in products.
