Tyvek Protec 160 Roof Underlayment Synthetic Roll - 4' x 50' - 2 Square

I have used Tyvek products in two personal projects now. 1st a cabin in Big Bear, 1973 unit we re-roofed and sealed and recently a 120 sq ft high end shed / storage building. I introduced two different contractors to the product vs traditional paper and shingle deal. This stuff is CLEARLY marked for alignment, nails and everything. It also is self sealing and a great barier. There is ZERO air / draft getting through and no water issues where covered. Dropped heating of the cabin 30% to insulate and seal the external roof. Think of an attic with no dust seeping through the roof. No air leakage...wonderful. ALSO...the green "roof Tyvek" vs house wrap has a GRIP to it. The side stuff you will fall right off a roof...this is easy to walk on and tools...feet do not just slide away.Highly recommend...you won't go back. Plus...I say go Tyvek. This is a Dupont product and they make most chemical structures from their own research. Ever have a bad cold and use a real Kleenex vs a knock off tissue? Nuff said.

I put this down on a roof I was doing solo, so it took some time after getting the underlayment down before the roof was on. Several rain days occurred and not a drop of leakage. Strong enough to walk all over it. Handles, cuts and goes down much easier than felt. Great product.

Works well with just one person and does seem to be water proof but a little slick on roofs with a steep pitch. A vast superior product to felt
