My mom made me a coffee with hers and I was hooked and I've been wanting a frother like this so this was perfect
I'm still getting used to the French press. I've been kinda spoiled with my Keurig for a while now. My mom made me a coffee with hers and I was hooked and I've been wanting a frother like this so this was perfect! I've only used the French press once and I kinda messed it up. There are no directions with it (as far as coffee measurements per oz of water) that is why I gave it 4 stars but I can figure that out eventually so no biggie. I am absolutely obsessed with the frother tho! I use it almost everyday! It works great and it is super easy to use and clean! I just use half and half cold and top with caramel and white chocolate drizzle. It makes a great latte!

Decent first French Press.
It was suggested to me to try a French Press to enhance my coffee experience. This is very simple but nice looking. Mine did not have the name Zell on them like the photo shows. The milk frother has a small scrape on it but I decided to keep them. For the price its not a big deal. It's my entry into this whole new to me brewing style. The glass is thin so beware especially when washing this not to grip too tightly. The thin glass is not a deal breaker but be advised to its delicacy. Definitely would want to use a soft extension washing wand for this. If you have a stone counter top might want to put something under this. Really cold stone and hot glass just doesn't do well. I had glasses that were this thin and I broke one setting it down and another washing it (heavy handed). No brewing instructions came with mine just a little paper on the warranty and care. The glass did not separate from the metal container. I had to wash the entire thing by hand and dry. I hope it does not rust. If new to the French press like me you'll have to find your perfect grind (size)/water ratio. I have not figured out the perfect ratios yet but my first cup was not bad. Great starter set for the price.

Outstanding cup O' Joe awaits you!
Had Bialetti espresso maker and milk frother at home but couldn't use at office since I only have a microwave there. I measure out water and boil in the microwave. I try to use a glass measuring cup to boil in. Note that the "manual" says do not place in microwave. This is probably a good idea. The first time I used it I boiled water in the unit which I placed in the microwave. Upon pouring coffee into the still boiling water it immediately shot up getting boiling water on my hand and over the top of the unit. Safety tip: Boil in something else, put coffee in empty unit, pour water on top. I put the press part of the unit in and leave it just above liqud height to hold the heat in. Leave in the press for 4 or 5 minutes and viola - excellent cup O' Joe. This French Press makes outstanding coffee - so much better than "pod" coffee.I like the fact that the press comes with a milk frother. Never thought I'd say it but this thing works so much better than my Bialetti. Fill it with a few ounces of half and half and in seconds you have super thick froth. I only use it with cold milk products so can't comment on hot well it does warm products. I'm guessing it does those just as well.Frother has lines on it for mm of liquids and a larger line which I'm guessing is a maximum fill line for frothing. Not sure. The glass container on french press could use similar markings but has none. I guess you could measure out water using frother then pour into another container to boil then pour into press.Manual is spartan. Basic care says handwash, no abrasives/solvents, clean with warm water. Warnings are very informative: Do not exceed capacity (no kidding), keep upright when using (not a bad idea)and do not microwave (found that out the hard way).Product works so well and is so reasonably priced I ordered a second one for my house. It's all I use now. After purchasing this I ordered one of these to grind whole beans:http://www.amazon.com/Proctor-Silex-E160BY-Coffee-Grinder/dp/B00006IUX5/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1454855186&sr=8-1&keywords=Proctor+Silex+E160BY+Fresh+Grind

Not for the single, or grit-negative coffee drinker
My biggest beef here is that my coffee was grit-city, even with a coarse grind. To ameliorate this, I got a stainless steel pour-over coffee filter to pour the coffee in for extra filtrate between carafe and cup. They are ~$16 on Amazon, so it's still a fair deal since this has a frothier included. As others have mentioned, the frothier plate doesn't reach all the way to the base, so there's always a small layer of unfrothed milk at the bottom. This isn't an issue for multiple drinkers, but if your making a latte for one, I'd recommend something else. I have a nice stainless steel frothier that goes to the bottom which I got awhile back on Amazon for about $13. In that case I'd also recommend a different stand alone French press, with better grit filtration abilities.

Use This Every Single Day, Every Cup
I wanted to try French press coffee. I saw this on a lightning sale and purchased it. From the very first super delicious cup, this is what I have used. There are no instructions for making coffee included; instead the pamphlet is for the care of the product (handwash only). I looked up how to _make_ coffee on Pinterest. At first, I thought I would use this on weekends since the coffee is so luxurious, but that idea quickly evaporated: I make my coffee with this every single day. I don't mind the extra attention it takes because it's so good. Life is short - I want good coffee every time I make it.I don't really use the extra milk frother that came in the kit. I tried it a couple time and it performed well. It just really wasn't my thing to have frothed milk.
