I haven't even begun to read through these books yet but I am looking forward to it after having them sit in my wish list for some time they became cheaper so I decided to purchase and I am not disappointed. Having not seen the film for some time ...
Really surprised with the quality of this product. The books are much larger than I was expecting. (Please see my photos with ruler to give an idea of size) Pages are turned from what would been considered the back of the book for standard UK books. I haven't even begun to read through these books yet but I am looking forward to it after having them sit in my wish list for some time they became cheaper so I decided to purchase and I am not disappointed. Having not seen the film for some time now I'm going to work my way through the books before rewatching the film. The books also come with a double sided poster and are cased together in a cardboard cover.

A fantastic series that is a must have for fans.
Spread over two hefty sized, hard back books this series compliments the original Studio Ghibli animated movie of the same name. While both books have been translated fully into English, the format and layout are still in the original Japanese meaning you read from the back of the book and from right to left. The artwork is nothing short of amazing and each page is painstakingly drawn with the same love and attention as the movie. To be fair, I never expected anything less from one of the greatest animated studios and the one of the most celebrated animators in the world, Miayazaki.I didn’t think it was possible to display the same emotions and feelings towards the characters and their world as a fully animated movie could but somehow he does. You feel as if you are part of the adventure and of course, in true Studio Ghiblie style, the main protagonist is female. The set also contains an A3 double-sided poster and both the two hardback books come packed inside an excellent decorated cardboard boxA fantastic addition to any Ghibli fans collection.

I can't recommend this enough
If you've watched the anime, I'm happy to tell you that this is a bigger, longer, more epic and better experience than the anime. In the same way that the Akira anime was brilliant but simply could not be long enough to encapsulate the epic amazingness of the original Akira manga (you should own both). As with Akira, the anime has roughly the basic outline of the story in common with the book, but the book contains so much more: so many moments, twists, plotlines that aren't in the anime (the anime would have had to been maybe 6 hours to fit it all in reasonably).I honestly think that any fan of anime, comics, manga, novels, sci fine, fantasy should read this at least once in their lifetime. It's essential. The books are nicely packaged, presented and bound, too.

Every comic-book fan should read this fabulous manga.
A masterpiece. Beautiful, imaginative and incredibly detailed. Other reviewers have mentioned the fact that it needs to be read in reverse: back to front and from right to left. It doesn't take long to get used to. Although the story diverges substantially from the anime version - with whole themes and story arcs removed to fit the running time - it helped to have seen it as the drawings are very crowded, which adds to the detail of the world but detracts from clarity at first. Once these minor hurdles have been overcome the experience is pure joy: complex, rich and immersive. Miyazaki explores his themes with his trademark depth and passion and once again features not one but two powerful female characters. Glad to have found it in this format; even more glad to have learned of its existence having been a fan of the film for over twenty years,

Very high quality release for an amazing piece of art and storytelling
This is my favourite manga of all time!I already have the complete original set of 27 from the 1980's-1990's but really liked the look of this box set and I'm glad I bought it.The quality is superb, really well done and it's super heavy too!If you enjoyed the film then this is the complete story as the film only covers a very small part (although it is the best anime movie I've ever seen and I've seen a serious amount). It has the same amazing "feel" to it as the film - that certain atmospheric quality that is hard to describe but makes an impact on you that never goes away. There's a lot to read but you won't want it to end as the story is so good and the artwork is just incredible- the detail in every page just has to be seen to be believed. As per usual with Japanese manga it's all black and white but don't let that put you off as the line work is amazing and colour would probably just mask some of the detail.Buy it while you still can as things as good as this never stay around forever and it's such a huge story you'll want to read it all again and again.

A Fantastic Tome
I loved the film and thus had fairly high expectations for this, though as it was one of Miyazaki’s early works (i believe) I did reserve those hopes a bit.Well, I was appointed. This adds so much more to the story and not just in number of pages. I’m a fan of individual art styles and Miyazaki’s illustrations shine. Indeed, the book exudes his unique style.A hefty tome makes it kinda better in my mind. Well worth getting, I’m very happy.

Just incredible
I grew up watching the horrible American VHS copy where they cut a lot of the ecological aspects out, years later I watched the Original, which blew my mind, then the Disney, which obliterated my mind again! Now I finally got to read the manga. The art, story and presentation are absolutely sublime and my perception of the Nausicaa universe is forever changed. The best purchase I ever made.

Masterpiece
The bounding, the paper, the extra goodie(poster) not to mention the amazing writing and skill of Miyazaki as a Manga artist it's mind blowing. The story without giving any spoilers it's just a page turner...couldn't put it down and believe me it's a giant tome. This thing was heavy but I could not stop reading....do yourself a favor and get it
