TECHNICAL ISSUES
I love this book very very much, but sadly BOTH of the versions of it I bought from the kindle store had technical problems. I'm going back to piracy because at least then the pages will be in the right order.

A good beginning for a great series...
This is the first of 28 volumes in the Rurouni Kenshin series. Don't let the number of books discourage you. It's worth it!If you have seen either the TV series or any of the OVA's before you will have an idea of what it is about if not, then read on:Kenshin Himura is a wandering samurai, ten years ago he was a feared manslayer who helped bring about the downfall of the Tokugawa. But that was ten years ago, Kenshin has sworn never to kill another human and has wandered alone since then. Kenshin is small has read hair and doesn't look anywhere near his age (which is 28 by the way), however as a mark of his past he carries a cross shaped scar on his cheek. Instead of a normal sword Kenshin's has a reverse blade (Sakaba) which means he cannot kill with it. To the average person he looks like nothing put a penniless wanderer who carries a sword even though it's now illegal. His wanderings are about to come to end, while wandering through the streets of Tokyo a girl attacks him accusing him of being the famous manslayer because he carries a sword even though it's against law. After seeing Kenshin and his sword Kaoru (the girl) decides that he can't be the manslayer and follows the police calls to the attacker she's been hunting for. Kenshin decides to follow and rescues her just in time. After Kenshin helps defeat Kaoru's enemy he decides to stay. From then on we have the story of Yahiko and the beginning of Sanosuke entrance. Also there is a bonus story with Kenshin at the end.As the story progresses we follow Kenshin and his friends through various hardships. And where fans Kenshin found disappointment in the TV series the manag story of what comes after the Kyoto fight is properly the best and saddest. The artwork is good but improves along with the story over time. All in all, well worth it.

Incredible!
I am currently collecting this entire series and so far it looks fantastic.I wiil not bore you with the entire story but i will tell yo that if you like funny, action-filled, samurai-fighting stories with enthralling plotlines, great and interesting characters and cool sub-stories then get this series. It is a must-have manga that everyone should own.Caution: This manga contains blood and gore and also reads from right-to-left, the traditional japanese way. It takes a while to get used to but once you do you will never want to go back! Thanks and hope you enjoy it!

Fantastic Kenshin!!
If it hadn't been for a friend of mine, i would never have discovered the world of Rurouni Kenshin, and i'm grateful that they introduced me to it. I found this to be throughly enjoyable to read, even though I found it weird reading from right to left, but that just adds to the enjoyment.I would recommend this to any Kenshin fan.
