Have an invasion of lantern flies. I did not want to spray my plants so I brought this. Very stick and can be challenging to attach but does a great job once you can get off your fingers

I have changed my tape once because there were so many stuck to the tape. Easy to put around tree and there is a lot of tape included with four rolls. I would recommend but I guess if no one else uses it or something else to mitigate the lantern flies, you still may so them.

Had this up for two days and then went in the yard to find a robin completely stuck to it. Thankfully, we have a wild bird sanctuary blocks away that I was able to bring it to m, who hopefully saved its life. They said they’ve seen this almost every day from people trying to catch spotted lantern flies in New York City with this or similar products. In my opinion, the risk of injuring or killing birds outweighs the potential benefits this product has.

Tape is VERY adhesive, but also difficult to apply (in reverse, sticky side outward)..

This tape is amazing. We had an infestation in our backyard for 2 years where there were 100s of lantern flies and we couldnt use our backyard . Then we got this early in the season and that's key. You have to put this up before they hatch their wings, it's very effective. We were able to eliminate nearly 95% of the lantern bugs because the spotted insects prior to getting wings are not strong enough to escape the sticky surface. Once the wings hatch it won't work so use it early in the season.

On larger trees the fly catcher does not stay on the tree for any length of time even when using masking tape. Trees with rough bark is very difficult to apply. Product best used on smaller trees with smooth bark.

So many dead spotted lantern fly nymphs. I barely put the tape up before a bunch were stuck to it. Gets the job done. It is very thin and easy to rip and takes a bit of maneuvering to get it on the tree right, but once you get the hang of it the tape works amazingly well. Definitely buy a lot of you have a SLF infestation like we do because you’ll need to change the tape every few days.

This tape is so easy to apply! I saw another reviewer said it didn’t work because it’s not sticky on both sides, but it doesn’t need to be. The one sticky side should face out, and you just overlap the tape an inch or two where it comes together and it stays up around the tree. The instructions clearly state this and are easy to follow.
