Best & Easiest Way to Clean Leather
This is the best leather cleaner I have ever used. I have used it on the leather upholstery in both my car, my home, on briefcase & boots. Really gives a nice sheen to the leather and seems to lubricate it if the leather has started to dry out. It is very easy to apply and you do not have to rub. The first time I tried this product, I bought the lotion. After reading reviews, I have to agree that the cream works better. Also be sure to follow the directions and use a sponge to apply, not a cloth rag. Restoration Hardware sells this in their own bottle for more $$. I intend to always keep this on hand.

So disappointed
I bought this cleaner to clean the grayish tint off of my light blue leather bag (the stains were from carrying the bag against my black down winter coat, which I guess rubbed off some color onto the leather) and after applying the cleaner and letting it soak and rubbing and wiping it off 5 times, the stains are still there and I actually think it made it worse. Rubbing the cleaner into the leather (according to the instructions on the tube) actually spread out the stain and made it way more noticeable. I'm completely unsatisfied with this product and plan to contact the company for a refund. I guess I will have to take the bag to a professional cleaners to undo the damage. UGH.

Quite pleased - not a DEEP conditioner though
I bought this product to cut down on the time I spend cleaning horse equipment (tack). This did a much better job cleaning than my glycerin soap, and did a fairly good job conditioning without leaving ANY residue. Leather felt clean and fresh. I used about half of the 8oz tube to clean my saddle, boots, chaps, bridle, and stirrup leathers. The directions say to apply liberally (which I most definitely did), and wipe off the excess (there was almost no extra! It all sunk in). This product did a better than expected job of getting rid of barn cat scratches, abrasion from my stirrup leathers, cracks on my girth billets, and lifting away almost all of the dirt. I was especially pleased that it lifted the tacky white residue left by the cleaner I used last time (just grabbed whatever was sitting around the barn - guess I know why it was sitting around!). I have colored leather (green) on my saddle, as well as a deep brown, and it didn't affect the green at all, but it did bring a bit of life back into the brown color, which was very nice. It did NOT fix the few rain spots on my saddle however, and didn't leave my leather with that deep conditioned feel of some of the leather balsams I usually use. I am going to let this sit on my saddle for a few days and then I am going to follow up with some Effax Leather Balsam, since my saddle was pretty stiff, and I want to make sure it is fully conditioned. My guess is that if you used CPR frequently (every couple weeks) you wouldn't need to do the deep conditioning very often, if at all. I am definitely going to buy the refill size and use it on my leather furniture at home, since it give a very clean, furniture finish, and then take the extra to the barn so that I will have it on hand for regular maintenance. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to clean tack, shoes or leather furniture. Not sure how it would work on more delicate leathers like bags or jackets, but I would be willing to give it a try.As always, if you want a super deep conditioning, I would recommend effax or passier, but keep in mind that this leaves a more "shiny" or "tacky" finish than I would use on most furniture or bags. Mixed review - Doesn't clean , conditions somewhat! Dissappointed
Ok, I ordered this stuff based on the reviews here on Amazon. This is no way lived up to what the reviews say. I admittadly was working with some dry, faded and uncared for leather. It did bring some life back to leather but in no way did it make it soft. I applied several coats until the leather would simply not absorb it at all anymore. On the better pieces it did indeed make the leather very soft to the touch. As a cleaner I found this product to be worthless. It would not remove any dirt from the leather and the applicators were still clean afterward. I worked it hard too. If you are looking to use this as a cleaner. DO NOT use as a CLEANER! The leather may appear a little cleaner but that's just because of the little bit of shine. All in all I think this product would be great for softening new shoes, baseball mitts and the like. If you have any real cleaning or restoring to do I would not recommend this product to you.

More of a leather conditioner, not cleaner. Not good for soft leathers.
I purchased this to use on a variety of leather goods from watch bands to boots and high end leather coats. Never at any point did the product clean the article more than a damp cloth would. I do feel as if the leather was somewhat sealed and contained more moisture after the treatment.A word of caution for people placing on soft leathers. It says not to put on porous leathers like suede, but also be careful with distressed or leather that has different color shades in it. On every article I put this product on the color became uniform and the leather felt sealed after the treatment. These were high quality garments and shoes that had an aged or more natural quality to them before the treatment even when new. After the treatment the leather always appears wet and is not nearly as soft as it once was. The articles are not ruined, but be aware they will not ever be the same.I think this product works ok and does the job of conditioning leather so it does not dry out, but is a better choice for damaged leather you need to bring back to life. There must be better products for regular conditioning and cleaning.

A great product for all sorts of leather!
This product is surprisingly good. I have used it on my wallet, three pairs of dress shoes, two pairs of boat Sperry Top-Siders, and my girlfriend's LV and Chanel bags. The effects were most noticeable on the dress shoes, especially brown ones. It made the leather look so moist, clean, and generally plush. I do suggest you get a good shoe polish to use after applying this product, because I felt like it stripped off whatever polish I had on the shoes beforehand. This product will make you want to track down all of the leather in your home and give it a good scrubbing! BTW, they suggest you use some foam sponge that not everyone has laying around the house, but you can make do with some paper towel just as well in my opinion.
