I love this series!
I fell in love with this series when I first watched the anime, so I was really excited when I heard the manga was getting an English release. This story starts a bit like Ouran Host Club, the girl who looks like a guy, breaking stuff in the host club, and being forced into joining the host's team to pay off the debt. However, it veers off a bit after that, and takes some different turns. The debt gets cleared quickly (because that's not the main point), and there's lots of fun team interactions, as well as some fun survival games fights.I love all the characters in this story. Hotaru is adorable, and she cracks me up, especially when she's together with Yukki. Matsouka is great as well, and even get a small peek at Midori who I hate, and love, and hate and love some more!I'm really excited for the next volume, since this one ends on a bit of a cliffhanger!

Anyone can experience the thrill of battle
This series is definitely in my top 5 favorite manga right now. This is a fun story with a unique group of characters. The dramatic tensions feel genuine, because the story focuses on how real gaming warfare can become in the imaginations of the players. However, since the battles are fought with bb pellets, everyone emerges to fight again another day. There is a lot of humor with mild sexual innuendo occasionally. Overall, very charming in the development of relationships between characters, who struggle to balance their roles as comrades in arms or enemies on the field of battle with the ways in which their lives connect outside the playing field. Naoe, clever, witty, generous to her fans, astonishes me with her ability to make every match unique in context and events so that the battle sequences are engaging and exciting even to someone who has absolutely no interest or experience with airsoft per se. All I need for perfect happiness at this point is for Yen Press to plan an English translation of volume 7.5, the fanbook.

I was having trouble finding a good collection of the translated manga online
My girlfriend introduced me to this anime and I ended up falling for it way more than she did. However, I was having trouble finding a good collection of the translated manga online. I kept checking Amazon for one, but all I could find were the Japanese ones. Then I found this!I immediately downlaoded it without hesitation and pre-ordered the second volume. I'm so glad that I did! The translations look great and the images are so clean and clear! I just hope that it keeps getting translated. I know it's not the most popular series out there, but I'll buy every volume!

Just like the anime
I wish they'd make a second season of this, but I've been waiting forever, and can't take it anymore, so I bought the manga. This is a very silly series. Don't expect a hard core survival game series. If you do, you'll be disappointed. I loved it.

Feels more drama/comedy than sport/hobby
Ultimately, I had fun with the book, but it's pacing and plot felt disjointed. It seems to focus more a character wanting to play a sport/hobby rather than the sport itself. Although, most of the book is the mini-series intro, followed by the first chapter of the run. The characters were entertaining enough in their interactions, but I think I would have liked more time spent on them actually in matches or practicing/learning and I wasn't a fan of the angsty rivalry that seems like it'll be a big part of the next book.
