Moderate Quality
The chessmen are of good quality. They are an ideal weight that feels good/hefty in your hand, and does not tip over easily like the plastic chessmen.For the board itself, I was expecting higher quality. The "leather" looks very nice, but the binding around the board and the case underneath are obviously just glued together, and would not take much abuse before the edges all started to come up.Over all, a moderate level piece that looks like it could be expensive, and is higher quality than any plastic beginner chess set, but certainly not a collector's set.

Great Chess Set
The pieces are very nice. Not too heavy and a nice felt bottom for easy sliding across the board.The board looks fine but my expectations were higher with considering the price $$$.

Luxury set - Durable as it needs to be
The board and pieces are very nice quality and decorative as a luxury set should be. If you are a looking for a daily playing set or a tournament board look elsewhere. This set is setup nicely in my home as an accent piece, but still has play-ability.
