I recently ran my first ultra-marathon, a 100km (62 miles) race through the jungles of Malaysian Borneo with nearly 6,000m (20,000ft) of vertical gain. The race was a combination of single track, river crossings, paved road, forestry tracks and, well.... nothing but reflective markers suspended from the trees. About twelve hours before the race I applied Gurney Goo to my feet and put on a pair of socks. Again, about 3 hours before race time (while trying to get some breakfast down past a gaggle of gorillas sized butterflies in my stomach) I applied Gurney Goo to my feet and a few other chafe and rub prone areas.Within 6km (4miles) of the start line the race crossed the first of 6 rivers that guaranteed wet and muddy feet for the entire race. 22:00 hours later I crossed the line.Exhausted: oh boySore: in ways I never knew possibleBlisters: NOT A SINGLE ONEChafing: none whatsoeverThe only product I feel as confident in recommending for long distance activities to anyone and everyone I meet is Tailwind NutritionThe only possible regret related to this product is not having tried it earlier. I bet you'll feel the same way!

Nothing better
I have done the MR340 three times prior to this year. Every time I have tried using a combination of other antifriction products, tape, and gloves toward the end. I always wind up with several blisters. Last year I had over 35 blisters on my hands alone, several which got infected and needed antibiotics to treat. I also wind up with a severe rash every year on my rear end and lower back from staying wet in the seat for 40-50 hours. Severe chafing from rubbing of my life jacket and seat back is a problem as well. This year I used Gurney Goo on my hands, rear, and lower back. I only ended up with about ten blisters and had no rash or chafing issues. This is the best stuff I have found, and I have tried several others.
