It works.
Having purchased the earlier version and experiencing firmware issues, I’ve upgrade to this newer version of the same model. It is basic, but it works, and this later version of the same model plays most files. Customer services and support is good. But note it doesn’t work with the stated NTFS formatted drives. However instead it plays exFAT which is better. exFAT now the default and a better and more modern table. This player will work with the older TVs using the supplied AV cable. However for HDMI you will need to buy a cable, plus 2 AAA batteries for the remote control. But it does come with an additional plug in IR cabled receiver.I think the device is overpriced, but it is small, compact and mobile plus versatile, and good for playing from USB2 and USB3 drives.

Good purchase and quality!
Very pleased with this little media player. Nothing fancy but it does all we need it to do when we go to watch family pics or videos on a big tv screen. Comes with a remote control that’s easy to manage and a power supply etc - all images very good.

This DOES work with internal hard drives, but you have to work for it!
This review is specifically for the HA0063 device that you can install a hard drive into.I see lots of reviews saying it doesn't work with internal hard drives. In my experience, it does, but you have to work at it and I had to take some guesses as there is no help in the manual. Here's what worked:Physically install the HDD into the MyPin device - there are instructions for that.Plug the MyPin device into a PC using a USB cord.In Windows 11, in the tool bar at the bottom where it says 'Search' type in the word 'disk' to get the disk management options, you then have to first initialise (as MBR), and then format (as NTFS) the drive and give it a drive letter from there. Whatever you do don't format the drive in your PC by mistake, you will kill your PC! ! So you have to get that little bit technical with it, plug and play it ain't. Otherwise you will only be able to see the drive in Device Manager and you won't be able to use it.There is probably some equivalent way of doing this on earlier versions of Windows (you need to get to the disk options) or on a Mac.In terms of it being limited in terms of playing file types, yes I think it may be, I have had some refusals to play, but now I have the thing working with the hard drive, I am happy with it at the price actually.

Not fit for purpose
This is a disappointment. On paper it is a cost effective playback source, so I planned to use it to playout videos off USB sticks and SD cards into an Atem mixer for live event streaming. But in practice it doesn't work consistently nor reliably. Of the various media and formats of video I tried it rarely played back files without issues. Some MP4s were not readable whilst other MP4s from the same source played OK. Then some would not play the audio from the MP4. Other clips would play for a couple of seconds then skip to the next file on the card. The vision was also poor - with some 1080p 25fps videos showing juddering. Maybe the chip decoder is just not good enough but this makes the whole box unreliable - you just can't trust it to play the files in every situation. The interface is klunky too - and you certainly can't use it to cue up a list of files to play in sequence. The copy and paste of files never worked too.The dual HDMI outs is possibly helpful but only if you could have the onscreen controls and interface on one output to a monitor and the other HDMI out clean of graphics. Sadly this is not a feature - so you can't access the menu without it appearing on the live output. So whilst it is cheap - it is not fit for purpose. I returned it.

Excellent piece of equipment
Bought a more expensive one that didnt work and that only came with an incorrect power supply. Returned it and bought this one and it’s great. Straight out of the box easy to set up and watching videos in all formats including VOB which I haven’t seen for years . Highly recommend

Good...but...
This media player is clearly made by one company and packaged in many different forms. You can tell by the remote control and the text within the advertisement. The player works really well and does play many different formats, but, a word of warning. File size is limited to 4GB. This doesnt leave much for high quality video playback as any video file often worth watching is well over 4GB. This is not clearly advertised so to hook you in, but I guess this is what you get for less than £40.If you stick to the above rule you will be fine.

Does what it's sopposed to and does it well
Found myself on holiday with an hotel t.v. that had every input except a usb socket. Since i had 2 usb sticks with shed-loads of movies and series on them and a t.v. with very basic channels, i had this item delivered to the hotel on the Isle Of Man in an impressive 3 days.It replaces an all-singing-all-dancing Cyclone Micro 4 which only lasted 2 years of holidays amounting to a total usage time of 28 days before it went nipples skyward. This item has a remote control with white symbols on black keys which makes it really easy to use even in low light, the buttons are laid out logically and user friendly so after a few hours use i barely had to look at it to operate the unit. Important point - the remote does not come with batteries so doesn't work straight out of the box.the unit comes with an A.V.I. cable so was able to connect to the T.V. straight away. The unit itself is small enought to be unobtrusive and has a blue light on its front to let you know when it's switched on. When switched on it presents you with a menu of 5 icons to let you choose between movies, pictures, music, file, and settings. So far i've only tried movies but it has played everything on my usb stick - avi, mkv, mp4, video clip.I've read other reviews which said it heats up but it's not something I noticed even after having it running for most of the dayAll in all a great little unit that is easy to use and does the job.
