An good choice of well manufactured stainless steel lock nuts of good quality Of coarse thread they are very handy to have in the garage by the DIY homeowner. No downsides whatsoever.

It's similar to using some type of thread-locking glue but without the mess, especially when a person have to do a bunch of adjustments just to make sure it has the right amount of tightness required. I've a folding utility cart that opened and collapsed much easier after replacing the 16 standard thread nuts with these.
