Doesn’t do what it claims
I live in Dubai (its humid round the year) and this product definitely doesn’t hold its claim. I was disappointed. Glad I tried the travel size instead of the regular one

Great gel for my difficult hair
I have difficult hair. Texture runs from fine to coarse (finer hair on crown and canopy, coarse hair on the lower sections). I also have a LOT of hair. Curl pattern ranges from almost straight to s-waves to medium corkscrew/ringlet curls. For porosity, most of my hair is low porosity, although the coarser bottom layer has some medium-porosity strands. Given that my hair has such great variation, it’s really hard to find products that work for my entire mane. This gel works GREAT for my hair! My best approach for styling has been leave-in conditioner plus lightweight curl cream plus gel that dries to a cast, which I then scrunch out once dry. This gel is wonderful for that. I still experience small amounts of halo frizz (practically unavoidable with my hair. Since the topmost layer is finer, the strands that grow straighter on top refuse to join curl families. If I attempt to finger-curl those baby flyaways they might stay together, but will be practically straight). But overall, gel hold is really good and works over at least two days (I’m on day 3 today- still have some nice bouncy curls despite minimal refresh). This gel doesn’t leave my hair feeling dry or limp, so it works in my routine to maintain my ideal protein/moisture balance levels. Also, I’m highly sensitive to fragrance, especially floral scents. I was concerned when I opened my trial-size bottle to break the seal. It was a mild scent, but definitely floral. I needn’t have been worried though. The fragrance isn’t heavy, and completely disappeared once my hair was dry and I scrunched out the gel cast.On days I’m looking for springier curls, this is quickly going into regular rotation. My other almost-holy-grail product (verb foaming gel) works best for softer/tamer curlsFor background: despite trying multiple approaches and various levels of fidelity to the curly-girl method, I’ve found my best bet is to find products that work for my hair, no matter whether they include forbidden ingredients. Despite having self-admitted difficult hair, it’s extremely tolerant to sulfates and water-soluble silicones. The strict curly girl method was a complete fail for my hair over the 1-2 years+ I attempted it. I’ve spent the past few years trying various products to see what works for me.

Fabulous!
Hands down the best product I have found to keep my curly hair from frizzing. I also like the gel because it maintains and encourages the curls. It can also reactivate after a couple of days with water.

Works well, smells great
This gel works just about as well as any other gel. Not life-changing, but it smells great and it still works.

Was recommended for my frizz.
I live in Texas where you can cut the air with a knife.. My hair lady recommended this product for my constant frizz. A little goes a long way. I just started using it, but it seems to be helping. It makes my hair shiny and is easy to comb through. I use about a quarter sized amount and rub it in before blow drying. I do combine it with a heat protectant.

Misleading The Community.
The Ouidad Advanced Climate Control Heat and Humidity Gel is a great product that offers a lightweight consistency, good slip, and a good medium- hold without weighing down the hair. However, the product's claims of UV protection can be misleading, and it's important to do your own research before relying on such claims. While the FDA regulates sunscreen products and requires them to provide broad-spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB rays as well as the level of protection, this hair product is NOT regulated in the same way.The Ouidad gel claims to provide UV protection, but it's important to note that the level of protection offered may not be the same as a regulated sunscreen product. Therefore, it's important to do your own research and be cautious when relying on such claims.I emailed the company to see for myself what information they had and I received that this product only has UVB protection. The level of protection was not disclosed to me nor where the ingredients that provided the protection. Both UVA and UVB rays can cause damage to the hair, such as dryness, breakage, and fading of color-treated hair. UVB rays primarily cause sunburn, but UVA rays cause permanent damage on a cellular level to both the hair and skin. It's crucial to emphasize the damage that the rays can cause to the hair, as this is the main concern when it comes to hair products claiming to offer UV protection. In conclusion, while the Ouidad Advanced Climate Control Heat and Humidity Gel is a great product, it's important to be cautious when relying on its claims of UV protection. As this hair product is not regulated in the same way as sunscreen products, it's important to do your own research and understand the level of protection offered. The damage that UVA and UVB rays can cause to the hair should be taken into consideration when using the product. Who knows what protection there other products claim to provide.
