Never touch cat litter again. The new and unique CatGenie self-flushing, self-washing cat box grants the cat lover's wish to never scoop, touch, buy or change cat litter again. Instead of traditional litter, the high-tech CatGenie uses permanent Washable Granules that never need changing. For cats, CatGenie is just like using a clean litter box. The Washable Granules satisfy your cat's need to dig and cover. When your cat goes, liquids drain through the Granules, which don't clump or create waste. Touch a button or pre set the timer to start the wash cycle. The solid waste is automatically scooped, liquefied, and flushed down the drain. Using water and the veterinarian-approved SaniSolution, the CatGenie scours and sanitizes the Granules and cat box interior to eliminate germs and odors. A built-in dryer blows hot air over the Granules to dry them for your cat's comfort. The CatGenie acts like a cat box, washes and dries like an appliance, and flushes waste out of the home like a toilet. A one-time, DIY connection to a cold-water supply line from a sink, toilet, or laundry and you're set. T-adapters for laundry or bath are supplied. CatGenie is the only automatic cat box that's just like your cat, completely self-washing.

you can expect your floor to be covered in liquefied cat crap. That being said
I have a love/hate relationship with this cat box. When it works, it works well, but when it fails, you can expect your floor to be covered in liquefied cat crap. That being said, I purchased 3 of these and hooked 2 up to toilets and one to the washing machine. The cats took to them right away and I loved the convenience of the cat box. However, after 4 months, all 3 started to 'clog' somehow and without warning would overflow my entire floor with watery cat crap. I thank goodness they were all on tile/laminate and were relatively easy to clean up once the problem was discovered. It was to the point where we called it at a loss after this happened multiple times with all of the boxes.

Two boxes are best to have for multiple cats
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I have had the CatGenie running for well over 2 years now. And I have had no problems with it at all. As for those who say you cannot set it to run at specific times, you kind of can. If I am pressing the button at 8pm for the cat genie to run one time a day, it is going to in fact run at 8 pm every day. If i press it to do 2 x a day, well its going to run at 8 am and 8 pm.I saw that one review where someone had a few dis-functional units, and I wonder why? Mine has been working beautifully. I love it. I do have it hidden away in my laundry room so its out of sight. and the cats get in there by the cat door. The little beads tend to get all over the place but just a little extra vacuuming in that area takes care of that issue.I did just get a second unit because the only problem has been that it runs for quite some time and someone doesn't want to wait. So I figured a second box running when I choose will easily fix that solution. It was well worth the investment!!I love that I don't have to scoop any more litter! A lot easier to just have to vacuum up any scattered beads. And my cats are very pleased with it as well. They all did transition to it very easily. They love having a clean box all the time!!!I also use a box and a half of beads per litter box. Just what I prefer. And with this auto order of these items, I am actually in a excess supply at the moment. And this is way less costly and time consuming than regular litter.Hope you also enjoy the video. Just a quick clip of my setup here and both boxes working simultaneously. They sound really loud on the video and I don't think they're quite that loud! But no they are definitely not quiet. But this is in my laundry room and I close the door which I have a cat door in for easy access for the kitties and not disturbing anyone outside of the laundry room.

If thought scooping was gross try this poop blender/crockpot........
I bought the cat genie over a year ago because I thought it would be more sanitary and less messy. My husband and I installed it fairly easily and we even got the cats (I have 2) to use it. They weren't particularly happy with the pellets, or the box for that matter, but would use it when there was no other option. First of all, anyone who buys this needs to realize that while the cat genie is cleaning, there needs to be a backup cat box until it finishes. I found this out the hard way the second time I ran the cat genie only to find my eldest cat in front of the water filled cat genie relieving himself because his toilet was unavailable. This means you need to keep your old litter box or else buy 2 cat genies. Well, we were fortunate to have enough room in the bathroom we installed it in to be able to put the "backup" litter box beside the cat genie while it was going through the cleaning cycle. Since the whole point is that you don't want your cats use to using the old litter box, you have to only unblock it's entrance when the cat genie is being cleaned. It didn't take long for the cats to catch on to this so they would wait until the cat genie was cleaning so they could use their favorite old-fashioned litter box. Thing got worse quick when it clogged. The impeller is this spinning plastic object that grinds the waste with water to liquidfy the waste so it can pass through the pipe to the toilet to be flushed. Imagine a blender spinning water/waste mixture that won't drain. It's truly a disgusting sight, smell, and mess to unclog. The book advised you take the hose that drains to the toilet and use a sink to flush it out. First of all, I wouldn't put that thing near my clean faucet. Secondly, as my husband noted, if it did flush out the clog, it could very possibly cause the clog to push out the bowl of the cat genie and spray the entire bathroom with waste.Well, we tried to spin this as positively as we could and after successfully unclogging the cat genie, we both agreed we would from here on scoop the solids manually into the adjacent toilet before running the cat genie to clean. This pretty much blew the idea of never scooping cat poop, but we went with it. Despite the fact that we only ran the cat genie after we removed all the waste from the bowl, it then began to malfunction. It would get confused in it's cycles and got to the point where it wouldn't stop beeping at the end of a cleaning cycle. I called customer support. They agreed to send out another controller to me but upon installation, we had the exact same issue. Nothing was resolved. We got use to just unplugging the cat genie at the end of the cleaning cycle just to make the endless beeping stop. A month later the cat genie is again clogging - and we always remove the solids before running it. I don't know what it's clogging on, but it clogs every time it runs now. We have tried working through all the troubleshooting from the manual but nothing helps. This is where it now stands. We are sick of the cat genie - would like a refund but doubt they would cooperate. I guess I need to call customer support again, but figure it will just result in getting another part that doesn't resolve the issue. The cats are happy now though - with the cat genie broken, they get back their long time favorite LitterMaid box :) The cat genine is a nice idea but it just doesn't work.
