This does the expected job- I use it to connect an IBM/Lexmark buckling-spring keyboard from May of 1990 to whatever I like. There is enough power from this little guy to power such a beast, which I was unsure would happen. Its only problem is that the Caps Lock indicator does not work. Num Lock and Scroll Lock, yes. Mind you, you can still engage and disengage the actual Caps Lock function itself- but when Caps Lock is ON the indicator will be dark. It's still pretty cool to use a quarter of a century old keyboard on a new machine...

Bought this one to hook up a Model M to my macbook pro. It almost worked, except for a couple of deal breaking problems:- The keyboard wasn't recognized until I rebooted my macbook.- The control key was flaky -- if I pressed "CTRL-D" and then "D" again while holding CTRL, the second keypress didn't register that control was held down.I tried again with the "Adesso PS/2 to USB Adapter" and that one is working quite well so far.

Cheap Chinese crap, I guess it works
Worked for me as it should have, until I unplugged it about 3 times. Then the plastic coating on the end (The USB side) broke open and came off. Not fun to fix.I have no clue if it impaired the functionality as after, my old keyboard stopped working. (My PC had a port for it that I didn't know about, the old prong port, and it didn't work through that either.)Making a return because, obviously, I don't need it anymore.

Great for basic use but not for gaming
It works great for basic use. The only bad thing is it does not work good for gaming the keyboard lags in games and tends to lock up. If you ignore that it works just fine and I would recommend it. Just not for gaming on.

Compact and inexpensive - but no longer reliable
I liked the small size and modest cost of this product, so I bought it to use with a PS2 keyboard for my wife's PC. It functions for that purpose just fine. (see update below)However it does not work through a KVM switch, so if that is your need, this isn't the product you want.UPDATE: Has become unusable. It works when first plugged in and then fails shortly thereafter. Since there are so many other negative reviews, I must conclude that this this is an unreliable product.

Three Stars
The USB plastic case fell apart with minimal use... Had to tape it together.

Three Stars
It's working. The plastic case fell off often.

OK, but failed after three days
Used it to allow me to use an old IBM keyboard with nice, very tactile keys. The soldering looked good, so it was the chip that failed, or more likely its cheap encapsulation. I ordered another brand without issues.
