Fabulous!
Flawless, and enormous! And hurringly heavy, lol.Every bit what I expected and more, for a really great price. Perfect for scrying or meditation. Considering how much better the price was than the same thing from other sellers, it is even affordable as an atmosphere piece for a reading room if you are an oracle reader (tarot, oracle cards, runes, etc). Do make sure your table has sturdy legs though, because it is really heavy, not something I would put on a folding table. Was so worth getting!

) But those ground and polished balls which that merchant was selling seemed to be made of such a poor, low grade quality of cry
I'll begin my long and rambling review of Amlong “Purple Crystal Ball 130mm (5 in.) Including Wooden Stand and Gift Package” Somewhere in the dark recesses of antiquity:..It was the late 1970's. And in the heart of Downtown Portland, Oregon. A newly constructed building, which had a fledgling record store franchise as its entire ground floor, was holding its Grand Opening. The building had a central open Atrium area, and an upper mezzanine level surrounding it. I chanced upon a Gemologists Merchant booth on the upper mezzanine, which was selling both Leaded Crystal Balls, and some much higher priced examples of carefully ground and polished 'raw' Quartz Crystal Balls as well. (As the pricing goes, it becomes increasingly more difficult to find larger and larger outcroppings of naturally formed Quartz Crystals from which to make larger 'spheres' as their diameter increases in standard millimeter sizing.)But those ground and polished balls which that merchant was selling seemed to be made of such a poor, low grade quality of crystal formation, with all of their cloudiness, and inclusions, and ghosts, and veils, and bubbles, and most notably optical and Electrical Twinning, (Which sets up counter-posing electrical cancellation fields, virtually rendering the crystal electrically inert for all practical purposes; which is why Electrical Quartz Oscillator Crystals are small plained 'chip' pieces from a Quartz Crystal, which are physically separated from their 'twin' counterparts which typically exist within the natural crystal. Reference: http://wwwminsocam.org/ammin/AM30/AM30_269.pdf) So I asked the merchant, Would it be possible for Glassblowers to to melt the Quartz Crystals, and then to carefully reconstitute them without additional additives; So that at least an 'Optical Quality' Grade of Quartz Crystal Ball could be achieved for Scrying purposes? The Gemologist Merchant at that time in the late 1970's replied, It Can't be Done!! There's no way of knowing if the crystalline lattice structure, could ever be properly reformed or restructured. (Which, with all due respects to the Metaphysical crowd, is truthfully a Scientific (Electrical Fields) Moot point relative to a Crystal Scrying Ball. See the previous paragraphs reference concerning the counter-posing electrical cancellation fields which are inherent due to the naturally occurring 'Electrical Twinning' within any naturally formed Quartz Crystal.)Because it was all that I could afford at that moment, I went away from that Gemologist Merchants stand that day with a small 100mm Leaded Crystal Ball which had been one of their 'display pieces.' which had some almost imperceptible surface scratches, and bubble inclusions. Which has always seemed so 'dead and inert' that over the years I have jokingly referred to it as my “Large Inert Glass Marble.”> I was pleasantly surprised when more recently I discovered through Amazon, that Amlong Crystal was doing exactly what I had once asked of that gemologist merchant who had once said that it couldn't be done..Which only left for me the question as to how the Purple coloration had been achieved. Whether by the inclusion of some quantity of naturally occurring Amethyst, or by the addition of Manganese and Irradiation:“Amethyst owes its color to high energy radiation, erg. gamma rays from radioactive sources (Berthelot, 1906) and the presence of iron built into its crystal lattice (Holden, 1925). The irradiation causes iron Fe(+3) atoms which probably replace the silicon in the center of the SiO4 tetrahedra to lose another electron and form Fe(+4), an unusual oxidation state of iron (Lehmann and Moore, 1966). Note that the colorizing iron and its precursor is probably not present in the lattice as ideal ions (Fe3+ and Fe4+), but in part bound covalently to oxygen to form a FeO4 group. The electron released from the iron by irradiation is probably taken up by another ion, but there are different models on how exactly the Fe(+4) color center is stabilized. According to a theory of Lehmann et. al., 1973, the electron released from the Fe3+ to form Fe4+ is captured by another Fe3+ elsewhere in the lattice which gets reduced to a Fe2+, so the color center would be a pair of [FeO4]2+/Fe2+ formed in this reaction: [FeO4]- + Fe3+ → [FeO4]0 + Fe2+ However, other mechanisms including the role of other ions in the charge compensation have been proposed and the details of the nature and formation of amethyst color centers are still a matter of debate. For a review of the different recent theories, see Rossman, 1994, early theories have been discussed by Holden, 1925.” Reference: http://www.quartzpage.de/amethyst.html <> Or Manganese and Irradiation, Reference: http://www.glassbottlemarks.com/artificially-purpled-glass-irradiated-glass-altered-glass/So I sent a quick inquiry to the Amlong U.S. distributor via the Amazon system.Hi, just a general product question about the "Purple Crystal Ball 130mm (5 in.)" product: Would you be so kind as to provide information about what coloring agents are used to create the beautiful Purple coloration? Is the coloration due to Amethyst Quartz being in the Reconstituted Quartz? If not, What coloring agents/elements (Such as Manganese,) are being used to create the beautiful Purple coloration? The Amlong U.S. Distributor responded courteously and promptly within one business day:Hi:Actually we got from our manufacture, somehow we are told that, all colors are made by reconstituted quartz mixed with rare earth color materials, (it might include some Amethyst Quartz). But we are not sure what are exact elements. Thanks,Amlong CrystalWith the Amlong U.S. Distributor being based out of Los Angeles, California. And myself also being on the West coast; the item arrived rapidly. Within two days of having shipped. The included (but not mentioned in the product description) Storage Case was in perfect condition. As were the (included within the case) Flawlessly 'Optical Quality' 130mm Amethyst Purple Reconstituted Quartz Crystal Ball, and Wooden Stand. And in direct side by side comparison to my previously mentioned “Inert Large Glass Marble,” This Genuine Reconstituted Quartz Crystal Ball does NOT “Feel Inert.”I would love to be able to do some experimentation by which to determine whether it demonstrates. (however slightly.) any piezoelectric effect (Reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piezoelectricity) But the (Bulk Quantity of) 1N34A Germanium Diodes which I had also ordered through Amazon for that purpose; Which had also purportedly been shipped from a company based in China via untrackable “China Post” well over more than 14 days ago; to date are apparently somewhere lost in the “Either.”

Beautiful crystal ball!
This crystal ball is the perfect size for readings. It's heavy, clear glass, and looks great on my table. The only thing I don't love is the stand it sits atop. It's cheap looking, and the velvet is a bit rough, making the ball harder to turn. Recommend!

Thank you!!!
I’m extremely happy with my purchase!! The size of the crystal ball and stand is the exact size I was looking for. It’s perfect for my readings and looks so nice on my table. The crystal ball is a bit heavy and some other reviewers said the stand was cheap but in my opinion there’s nothing really to complain about. The stand holds up the ball and does what it’s suppose to do, so I’m happy with it

Beautiful!
Bought as a crystal ball... for seeing the future! It didn't come with instructions. I just gaze at it once in a while. It's cool. It's also very clear and super high quality. Very impressive.

Size and quality.
This is a really nice crystal ball - except for one thing. I read “ Crystal Clear Ball 130mm( 5 in.) including Wooden stand and thought the stand was part of the 130mm. So, what I got was really quite a bit bigger than what I expected. A comma after the size measurement would have helped me, at least. This ball is lovely, but is too large for how I want to use it in photography- I can barely hold it in one hand. ☹️
