I bought this Nicama SGM8 microphone with the idea to use it with my Nikon D3500 but I’m needing a cable adapter because the port in my camera doesn’t fit with the 3.5 plug. I used the microphone with my IPhone and works perfectly.

I purchased this mic to record an indoor event in which my kids where participants. The mics on cell phones are really designed for picking up audio very close to the phone. The quality of the audio drops off the further away the audio source is from the phone. With an important event upcoming, I went on the search for an external mic to help better capture the event.Enter the Nicama SGM8. For use with a phone you'll need an appropriate adapter (i.e. 3.5mm to USB-C or 3.5mm headphone adapter for Iphone). You might also want to consider shoe, mount, and tripod. Once you are all setup and the Nicama is connected to your phone, you are bound to hear a HUGE difference in the clarity and volume in your recordings.Why did I choose the Nicama SGM8? I watched many videos that reviewed other brands. The videos convinced me of the benefit of an external mic. I searched for some of the other brands. They were all more money and more important they were all out of stock at the time I made my purchase. So I took a bit of a gamble on the Nicama based solely on the other reviews. I truly feel the gamble paid off.If you're in the market for an external mic for your phone or camera, I first recommend you research if your phone or camera supports an external mic. Not all phones have this support. Also not all cameras support an external mic ( sadly a number of Rebels do not). So before spending an money, you need to make sure the device supports a microphone.Assuming you've researched and you're ready for an external mic, this is one I would recommend to friends.

Can't go wrong with this for the price! Nice packaging, and comes with a deadcat which is nice! Can't wait to use it more!

Tested with A7 ii. I also bought a clip on mic. When recording dead silence they sound the same. I think this mic is more sensitive to motion than the clip mic.But I think for the money it's a good buy, I'm also not a pro.

I purchased this microphone to use with my digital camera (Panasonic Lumix G6). Everything you need to get started is included - including a wind cover/muffler which would be useful when filming outdoors.Sound quality is very good, a great improvement from the built-in microphone on the camera. This microphone picks up sound from the front of the camera so it should reduce ambient noise as well. My voice comes out much more clearly and I am pleased with the results.If you are looking for an upgrade from the built in microphone on your camera, this is a great option at a great price.

I needed a mic for vlogging so i ordered this mic and im so glad i did the build quality is full metal giving it a premium feel the set up is straightforward with no batteries required.Included was the deadcat which is a must for me.I plugged this into my camcorder and the sound quality is amazing the whole kit is very compact and in my opinion a very professional mic.Don't hesitate with other named products this is a great microphone at a great price.

Please check the compatibility with your camera as I have to return coz it wasn't compatible with my Canon G1x which I bought it for but it works with most of the smart phone n sound is very clear n loud.

Excellent sound quality from this low cost microphone.The holder fits into the camera flash shoe and also acts as a stand when I use the mike with my PC.The dead cat cover helps prevent wind noiseThe sound quality with my camera is far superior to the camera built in microphone

it literally didnt work. When i connected it there and watched the playback there was no sound whatsover. Very disaapointing
