My grocery (nor any grocery I can find) carries this and it’s our favorite store-bought frosting. So delicious. Note that it doesn’t hold up over multiple days- it’s best consumed fresh.

I love how easy it is to make this icing. Just make sure you beat until very stiff peaks form!!!

My mom made angel food cake with this icing every year for my birthday and I can't have a birthday cake without it. Unfortunately, I've never found it anywhere else other than my home state of MN. I moved decades ago, but I'd pick up a box or two when I flew home for a visit, But after the passing of my parents, I haven't returned in awhile. Found it on Amazon at a rather high price for two boxes, so I bought the case (price per unit was reasonable) and shared it with my kids so they can carry on the tradition. Still the perfect topping for cake. (some of you may know it by the recipe name "7-minute icing," but I'm not using 12 egg whites to try and make it from scratch!)

This stuff is good! Super easy to make. My aunt said it tastes like my grandmother's 7-minute frosting, and my brother-in-law says it tastes like marshmallow frosting. I've never had 7-minute frosting so I can't compare this frosting to it, but I definitely agree that it tastes like marshmallow. It's great piped into cupcakes as a filling, as well as spread on cakes. It's bright white and glossy, and sticky and gooey like marshmallow, too. I do use an electric hand mixer which may cause this consistency.... the directions recommend a stand mixer.When spread onto cake, it smoothes out to an even texture, but it's not going to look professional like fondant or anything. You won't be able to use this frosting to pipe designs like you can with buttercream, it's too gooey. I never intended to use this frosting for this purpose anyway so I'm fine with that. I just wanted it to be easy to make and be tasty but not too sweet, and this frosting mix does the job. The fact it makes a great cupcake filling too is, well, the icing on the cake. =)My husband appreciates that it's fat free, too, it made him like it that much more. When I run out, I'll buy this frosting mix again.

All there is to say about this frosting is yummm, yummm, yummm, this frosting is absolutely delicious on angel food cake, ya gotta try it.
