Metro Air Force Steel Variable Speed Blaster Pet Dryer, 4.0 HP

I've never used a forced air dryer before, and recently bought this one to use on my two German shepherds. Some friends on an online forum said they thought forced air dryers removed undercoat better than brushing, which sounded like a good idea to me. Metro was the brand that always came up whenever there was a discussion about dryers. I have to say, I'm completely sold.My older dog has been getting less tolerant of brushing and had lots of undercoat that needed to come off. I blew him out thoroughly, bathed him, and then blew him out again to dry. The amount of fur I got off was astonishing, and he didn't mind it at all. In fact, he seemed to kind of enjoy it. Because he's a long coat, the outer coat tends to hold onto the undercoat, unlike a standard stock coated GSD. What worked best was to aim the dryer at the thick, dense spots and rotate it in a circular motion rather than pointing it at one spot for very long at once (similar to how I'd dry my own hair). The fur would loosen up and I could grab handfuls and simply pull it out with my fingers as I went. Where the undercoat was not as thick, the dryer would blow it right out. Much easier and even faster than just using an undercoat rake. Very messy though, you need to use it outside!

I bought this blow dryer back in 2016 for my Newfie. I use it weekly and haven't had a single issue since having it. Everyone told me I was crazy to spend this much money on a blow dryer but its saved me thousands over the 3 years I've had it as I'm charged anywhere from $100-150 per groom for my baby. If you're looking for a dependable blow dryer I would highly suggest this. The ONLY thing I would change is having a cool setting on it but otherwise its been beyond amazing for me. I will stay loyal to the MetroVac company and whenever it's time to get another one I plan to buy their larger dryer with the cool setting on it.

Omg why didn’t I get a velocity dryer sooner?! Soooo worth it!!! Blows the water and dirt and fleas right off! Dries fast and removes tangles and makes hair smooth and straight!! No more pulling out knots for an hour!!! This with my new utility sink is the best groom station!! Love it!!!🤗🐶🎀🙏⭐️❤️🎉

I like the Metro vac very much. And I'm glad I got the variable speed which allows you to start at a lower speed which is much quieter. My dogs hate it but starting with the lower volume keeps them from total panic. The blower is very powerful, really as much or more than a gas powered blower. The unit seems very well made. It does tip over easily as the unit is quite small and the hose is long and heavy. I have since purchased the wall mount plate and I think that will solve the issue and give me an easier storage option.

I have two Newfoundlands, a pond, flood irrigation, and one of the Newfoundlands is the school library dog and is bathed almost weekly during the school year. His attendance has improved dramatically since we bought this appliance, because bathing takes fewer towels, makes less mess, and he actually gets dry in a decent time frame. They both love it, and the noise bothers me more than it bothers them. Both Newfs will sit, unleashed, and thump their legs when the blower hits the itchy spots.

Love the variable air dial. I have 3 Pembroke Welsh Corgis and was costing me a small fortune to bring to the groomer. (They shed from January -June and July-December)The Metro Air Force blows them dry and all their dead coat out in no time! In this beautiful summer weather I set my table and dryer up outside. The birds will love the fur for nesting. I find the motor to be very quiet compared those at the groomers.I wish the hose wasn't quite so stiff but it's very manageable and does a great job.

I have two very furry Samoyeds...this works great to "blow out the undercoat" however, the loud noise freaks them out so I have to use a lower setting to get them dry...effective though...just takes longer. Definitely recommend...just beware that it's loud and if you have a skittish pup it may take some time to get them used to it and you may want to start out on a lower setting. But powerful and works great!

Blower is efficient for a grooming shop. The hose is very heavy. The blower itself needs to be mounted or weighted down otherwise it falls over. Handle broke on day two. Blower is powerful.

This was a very devastating buy for me. I bought this as my beloved metro variable speed dog grooming dry finally kicked the bucket. It lasted me 6 years of almost everyday use. It was right before Christmas which is my busy busy time.... what was delivered was a motorcycle/leaf dryer/blower and only one speed ( single speed is way cheaper). It is a metro but not the right thing at all! With only one super powerful speed it literally scares the dogs and will blow a little one right of the table. I called amazon and they couldn’t help me because it is third party!I never received any contact from the seller! No refund or replacement for the right product!! Terrible customer service from the seller

Truck looks amazing with blowing compared to using a rag to dry it. Kind of a lot of money for what it is and I did get a bit of heat from the spouse but once she found out it did a great job of drying her nails, I was saved!

I purchased this dryer to dry off my very furry 80 lb Bernedoodle pup. I was very impressed with the force of the air blowing the water off his fur! I would definitely recommend it for drying off large dogs.
